Farm To School

Our Harvest of the Month Program promotes a different Minnesota-grown food each month in the school cafeterias. The goal of the program is to encourage healthy eating and food choices by increasing students' exposure to seasonal foods, while also supporting local farm communities. 
Thanks to a grant from Fuel Up to Play 60, we have been doing monthly taste tests for students in the elementary and middle/high schools. In January we sampled Minnesota-grown rainbow carrots from the Hmong American Farmers Association, with a homemade Greek yogurt ranch dressing (thanks to The Good Acre in St. Paul for the delicious recipe!). Yum!
