About BC Schools
Small district. Big opportunities.
Brooklyn Center Community Schools is a small suburban school district located on the northwest border of Minneapolis. We pride ourselves in providing excellent academic programs to a diverse student population in pre-k through grade 12.
A full- service community school is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources. Our integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development and community engagement leads to improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities.
To equip every student with the knowledge, life-skills, and global perspectives to contribute to society and respond to the needs of an ever-changing world.
Superintendent Dr. Carly Baker spent her first fives year in the district as the Principal of Brooklyn Center Middle and High School. During her tenure, she has served on the Core Planning team to develop the district's strategic plan, the district policy committee, and participated in teacher negotiations. Dr. Baker has also led the development of the District Emergency Management and Crisis Response Manual as well as the development of the Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook. We are fortunate to have Dr. Jarva who has built such strong relationships with students and families as the next leader of our district.
