Summer Programming 2018
Students in Brooklyn Center Community Schools are invited to participate in our summer programming! Most classes run Mondays – Thursdays from Monday, June 18 – Thursday, July 26. There is no programming July 4-5. Transportation is provided at no cost.
Students entering grades 1-5 this fall will accelerate their skills in reading and math as well as in other core academics areas. Students will also participate in enrichment activities to develop building community awareness, creativity and leadership skills. Class runs from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Mondays - Thursdays. Students who are registered for summer school at Earle Brown are eligible to register for a three-week engineering camp. SEEK (summer engineering experience for kids) is sponsored and facilitated by the National Association of Black Engineers. Class runs from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Mondays - Fridays from July 9-26. Transportation is provided. Breakfast and lunch are also provided. Registration information will be sent to students who register for summer school.
Need child care this summer? Bright Start childcare services is a fee-based program and will be available for families June 18 – August 17. Bright Start runs from 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday – Friday. To register and for other information, please call Jody Loud at 763-450-3398 by Friday, May 25.
Students will accelerate their skills in math and reading in a camp-like atmosphere with the opportunity to explore a topic of interest. The morning will be focused on academics. The afternoon will include enrichment activities organized through 21st Century and the YMCA. Class runs from 8:30 a.m. – noon. Enrichment activities and

Students will work through the program APEX, which is designed for students to work in a course they missed or did not pass. Class runs from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Transportation is provided. Summer Baby Steps is available Monday-Thursday from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and is located across the hall from the Brooklyn Center Early College Academy at 5910 Shingle Creek Parkway, Suite 1A, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430. Transportation is provided for all eligible students entering grades K-12
If you have moved or have an elementary school student attending summer school, you must complete a transportation request form and return it to the Transportation Office by no later than Friday, May 25, 2018. The transportation request form is located on the district’s website, in the office at each school, and at the Transportation Office. All transportation request forms received after Friday, May 25, 2018 will be processed and transportation will start on Monday, June 25, 2018.

The Transportation Office is located at Brooklyn Center High School, 6500 Humboldt Ave. N, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430. The Transportation Office will be open 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 11 to August 31, 2018. The office will be closed July 4-5.
